NyaK'Ochieng’— the beautiful lady born in K’Ochieng’, as we liked calling her, had a very strong heart that was full of faith. When she prayed, her words touched everyone deeply. She wanted nothing but good things for everyone.

My granny lived her faith through her actions. She loved sharing a lot. She couldn't just have anything without sharing with someone beside her. Her home was open to everyone. She was very welcoming, and many people were really shocked at how she welcomed anyone, even total strangers to her, and offered them food and a place to spend.

Granny, I already miss you and will forever miss you. You were the foundation upon which our family name was built. Through your wisdom, you taught us how to live with purpose; through your compassion, you showed us how to care for one another. Though you are no longer with us, the bloodline you nurtured thrives, and the profound values you instilled remain our guiding light. We carry your legacy forward with immense pride.

Nind gi kwe, Dana - Rest in peace, my Granny.

My great grandmother was a truly remarkable woman. As her first great grandchild, I will always carry the honor and blessing of having known her. She was a woman of God whose life reflected love, kindness, wisdom and faith.Every moment shared with her was meaningful. She had a special way of telling stories, stories filled with lessons, wisdom, and guidance that stayed in the hearts of those who listened. She taught through her words and through the way she lived her life.
She was loving, genuine and strong. Being around her felt comforting and real. She made people feel seen, welcomed and valued.Today, we mourn her passing but we also celebrate a life well lived. Her prayers, her teachings and her love will continue to live through her grandchildren and great grandchildren. I will forever be grateful that I got the chance to know her and call her my great grandmother.
May your soul rest in eternal peace nyosimbo.

It is with a heavy heart but a deeply grateful soul that we bid farewell to our cherished grandmother.I call her 'dana' and she used to call me 'nyar Asembo'.She was the anchor of our family,a woman whose resilience, grace and love touched everyone she met.She taught us the value of togetherness, the joy of giving and the strength of faith through her prayers.Though she is no longer with us,her spirit lives on in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Thank you dana for your prayers, may the angels of the Lord welcome you.Rest well "Nya Kochieng"

Today, I honor the life of my beloved grandmother, a woman whose love, wisdom and teachings shaped the person I am today. She taught me how to live each day with humility, respect, kindness and faith in God. She always reminded me never to depart from God’s teachings and to carry myself well as a wife and as a person in society.
She raised us with genuine love and appreciation for others. Her words were always thoughtful and full of wisdom and she never failed to bless anyone who showed her kindness. Cleanliness, discipline and respect were values she deeply cherished, often reminding me to always keep myself and my husband’s home clean and honorable.
Though she had five sons, she loved me as her own daughter, being her first granddaughter. She filled my childhood with meaningful stories that carried moral lessons and guidance for life. One of the most special things I will always treasure is the loving name she called me “Nya Kochieng.”
Her teachings remain the foundation of my character, behavior and confidence. Her love and wisdom will continue to guide me every day. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
